Colors of Dauphin Island

Wednesday is the day for playing, exploring, shopping, and laundry. Yesterday’s play included finally photographing colorful houses on the island. What a gorgeous palette! I found some fabric in my stash that matches perfectly. I had bought a set of 5 inch charm squares that are perfect for a Dauphin Island inspired quilt. Yesterday I also wandered over to Bayou la Batre and will post photos from there, tomorrow!

    • Hi there! Dauphin Island is prone to hurricane hits! Hurricane Katrina cut a path right across the island, creating a new inlet. Those houses on stilts are mostly vacation rentals- cheap and probably easy to rebuild after the next hurricane!
