Next Adventure: Finding a New Roost and Radical Simplifying

Well, I will have lots of adventure to share in the upcoming months. I am leaving my minister job here and moving on! I have not decided on my next landing spot but am pursuing several options. I loved my time here, the people I served. I will miss my beautiful yellow house and gardens too. If you read my book, “Whirled”, you won’t be surprised to learn that I hope to find a less windy spot. I love winter and the seasonal transitions but hope to say adios to treacherous winds.

With so many of our churches (especially in rural areas) in decline, I have developed an interest in helping them navigate the road ahead, to finding a more peaceful future. I will be writing at ReverendJane.wordpress.com about those issues, should you be interested. I am contemplating a book and/or workbook on the matter as well. .

This coming Sunday is my last at the Wheatland church. I will stay in the area until I can get the house/yard cleaned up and make some decisions about where to head next.

I will share the non-religious aspects of my transition here. Dare I hope to spend a little more time in my popup camper before deep winter arrives? Will I really sell nearly everything that I own and get to that truly “simple” lifestyle that I have been writing about (see Simplicity on above menu bar) Is it a reasonable goal to only keep what I can fit in my van, popup, and tiny car? How many empty canning jars do I really need? How many shovels and shoes!? How many vintage Pyrex pans (Blue Cornflower pattern). How many sets of dishes?

Already, I boldly posted my two freezers for sale and they went in a matter of moments. Someone is coming tonight to check out my bedroom furniture. If I get over my nasty cold I will try for a yard sale this weekend.

….and back to blogging!
