Flying Cloud and Half-Moon Ride Again!

My camper Half-Moon has been in the garage all winter. The garage ceiling is so tall that I can fully set up the camper. This has made getting ready to roll much easier.

Been rounding up all the gear: dishes, food, clothes, electronics, reading material, chair, bedding, campfire stuff and whatever else I will need in there. Still, it looks dark and lonely. Can’t wait to get outdoors and open it all up to air out.

DSC05820This afternoon I also fired up the stove and the heater. I plugged in the frig, something I have never done in advance. Thought it might be good to get it cold before leaving.

I am heading to some wildlife refuges a few hours from here. Birds  are arriving daily–mostly Canada and Snow Geese. I read reports about other birds but have not seen too much.

I am told that I can expect to see large groups of Snow Geese, like shown in this photo.

A big plus would be to see an Aurora Borealis. They have been visible and active lately due to sun spot eruptions. My older ladies at the church tell me they could see them in the old days when they lived on the farm. Most now live in town.

Sunday night will be in the 40s, but Monday night will be high 20s. No worry. I have camped many times when nights are that cold. I will run the heater on and off in the evening, then again in the morning before I get up. I don’t have any firewood at the moment but will be keeping my eyes out for some.

I have a minister meeting Tuesday in Jamestown so will head there after camping. Then, on my next Monday off, I will head to Fargo, where a dealer will do some warranty work left over from last year.

Can’t wait to share photos from the trip. I may not have Internet while gone, but I will post ASAP.

Happy Spring (sort of)
