I climbed into bed at 7 PM and took my sleep-inducing allergy pill. I read more in Burning Daylight, by Jack London. No early sleep. A few miles down the road, drag car races kept the night air lively with their roar. Zoooooom.

I turn off the 4 AM alarm and at 10 PM I set up camp on the deck in my zero-gravity recliner. Perfect set up for sky watching. Tall trees rim my deck and block part of the sky, small town lights make the sky fuzzier. Still, I see lots of meteor showers, including a few fireballs. Around midnight I turned in for good, saying goodbye to the Perseids for this year.

I have a bigger issue now. This morning I double-checked the TV listings so I do not miss the Broncos first pre-season game. What???? The game is only on the NFL Network. I am no longer in Broncos country so special games may not be televised here. The cable provider tells me that NFL Network is part of a $70/month cable package. I checked online and for $99 flat fee I can stream NFL Network games on my computer. Hmmmmm. Thinking about that option. Thinking, thinking. Not sure. I need to find someone with the NFL channel and mooch off them : )
