Day Trip to Seattle

On Monday I took the new fast ferry to Seattle. I drove first to the Kingston Ferry Terminal and parked my car for the day for only $5!!!

The fast ferry is free until the end of the year

Catamaran Ferry, after the 1st of the year, it will be $10 each way, $5 for seniors. The ferry took 40 minutes going over and 30 minutes coming back.

Seattle skyline from the ferry dock

Seattle waterfront. It was a grey winter day

A car ferry coming in from Bremerton

Statue of famous local fisherman feeding the seagulls

Homeless people are common in downtown Seattle

My main destination for the day

My dad always took me out for roasted chestnuts in NYC over Christmas

Smoked salmon chowder for lunch

Pikes Place Market also has 5 floors of indoor shops. My goal shown here: My Stash Fabrics, a fabric consignment shop.

Found a shrimp statue on the way back to the ferry

I was close to the Seahawks Stadium, and lots of Vikings fans came to town for the Monday Night Football Game

Back home, watching the Monday night game on the clubhouse TV

I had a wonderful day in Seattle. I will be heading back on the fast ferry a day or two after Christmas to visit the Chihuly museum! I love Seattle.
