Movie Mania

I used to faithfully follow all the top movies. However, I don’t see movies in a timely manner anymore; our small town has 1 movie theater that plays mostly family stuff. So, I am in the habit of watching the Oscars in February and then renting the nominated movies over the next few months. We have a Red Box in town and the library is great about ordering movies for the culturally starved people.

So far, I have watched the following, all 2013 Oscar Nominees and/or winners:

  • Nebraska – great for us old folk
  • Blue Jasmine – fabulous
  • Captain Phillips-loved it…every bit.
  • Gravity – wonderful achievement but I don’t like being on the edge of my seat the whole time. Could do without it. Worth watching if you want to see how good Sandra B looks in lycra boxers.
  • Wolf of Wall Street – a wonderful achievement but I could have done without it. No need to rent it unless you are curious about how people gang bang at the office.

Still waiting to watch:

  • 12 Years a Slave
  • Dallas Buyers Club
  • American Hustle
  • Philomena
  • Her
  • August: Osage County
  • Frozen

So…that is my life while waiting for the busy time of  Lent and Easter to pass and for spring to hit us full force. Too early to tell if spring will be delayed, but I still have not been camping, mostly due to high winds.
