Pink Skies, Frosty Trees, and the Woman Cave

The early morning sky, in those moments before the sun fully rises, is especially pink up here. Pastel, cotton candy pink. Fluffy waves of pink above the houses. When the pink fluff fades in the east, I see pink tones in the west, even though it is a sunrise. Another interesting visual: the air here is more humid and sometimes a fog develops. On those damp nights the moisture freezes on the bare trees, leaving them frosty–a stunning sight in the early morning.

So, I took this profusion of pink skies and frosty trees as a sign from the decorating muses that I should move the woman cave stuff that I made for the camper into my new bedroom–at least for the winter. I had taken the pillows, banners, table runners and other girly stuff out of Half Moon already to wash and store for the winter. I found the effect of frosty trees in a “headboard” of tulle and white Christmas lights, hanging from the ceiling. Here the inspiration photo I used:

The sewing/craft room is also set up. Like the main bedroom, the carpeting is down so I was able to fuss around and get the sewing space just so.

I misplace my camera card holder frequently in the upheaval, or I would have photos. When it resurfaces again, I will post some photos.

The flooring project is nearing completion. I now have the plank flooring in the dining room and kitchen. The large office and the laundry room are next. The final frontier: carpet in the living room.  Here is the general look and feel of the flooring, although the shade in the house is a bit lighter, with more classic honey tones. I love it. Note: I do not own white furniture.

Work is going well: meeting lots of people in their homes and out in the community. Gearing up for Christmas Eve service and loving all the new challenges. The birds gobble up every seed and suet cake I put out. At times it looks like a busy restaurant out there, with frantic, hungry birds swarming over the feeders.

I know Christmas is near, thanks to my work responsibilities, but I do not have any sense of it at home. I hope yours is merry and full of special blessings.
